In a van.... down by the river
A black IPA (or as they alternately refer to it - an IBA). Got a bomber of this yesterday to have with the tortilla soup. Really nice beer... smooth, good hoppiness, and a little maltier/sweeter than my "old standby."

Almost too smooth considering it's almost 9% alcohol. :dead:

Highly recommended, although one was definitely enough. I finished the evening with a couple Titans. :D

how's it black?

When I hear 'black', i think porter or stout... which doesn't work with the hops of an IPA... ya know, my opinion and all.

You mean where did the color come from? Roasted malts.

Or do you mean how does it work taste wise? I tasted the hops first, and then those were balanced a bit with the dark maltiness.
