Stoopid Question: What else equals a Bullit?

The AS-X seems to have been made to directly compete with the Bullit. If you're concerned with cost, that eliminates the VP-Free.

Are you stuck on a single pivot or just looking for a ~7" versatile bike?
just kinda shopping....got a tracer and a 5.5.....sold the hardtail and was looking for something to build......dont need full on DH, dont need to spend big $$.....the chameleon was fun, but want fs....leaning towards a bullit.....that ventana sounds interesting. scott
see if Go-Ride.com has any of the El Chamuco's left - they were selling some sized under $1K!

Iron Horse 7point would be my current choice, but that's based on initial reviews. I haven't ridden one yet. I expect good things from dw.

I wouldn't put an Ells Id in that mix...They aren't nearly as beefy as a Bullit, can't handle a DC, etc.
Weyless 67s are cheap and built out of RAD tubing, I'd look at one of them if you're looking to spend as little cash as possible.
Otherwise, a VP-Free is sex.
