Somehow, the deraillieur hanger on my V10 has been stripped out. Is helicoiling it the best and easiest way to repair this? Should a good bike shop have this and be able to take care of it? any help would be much appreciated.

don't they have replaceable dropouts?
ya, but its cheaper if you can just helicoil it
You can also drill it out and use an insert.
where can i get one of thsoe kits?
I took 5 of my wife's homemade cookies into the bike shop when I bought 2 new derailleur hangers after breaking mine on the first 10 min of a 3-hour night ride. I bought 2 cause I needed to replace mine, and wanted to carry one in my pack.
