Since the DH thread has kinda become the half enduro thread I figure I would ask you guys this question in here...I need to 'unblack' my pike, building up a bike and the stripped down look will suit it best. Has anyone done this? My experience w/ stripping magnesium is thin at best...

My approach...
Pull the lowers
Pull the seals
Aircraft stripper? - Is this shit going to be bad for mag?
Wire Brush?
Wash
Clear

My trust in the good ol' RM is full.

Google magnesium wheel restoration. I think MG requires special paint.

However I would recommend bee stickers instead.

Does anyone have any details on that boxxer? I'd really like to raw these but won't have enough time for powder etc...
It was a long time ago, but I think he may have sanded/polished them and then hit them with some clearcoat (otherwise he would have been polishing them regularly since they oxidise fast, which may have been the case for him, I forget).

You could just polish them (or sand in one direction if you want a brushed finish) and then hit them with a quality spraycan of gloss or matte clearcoat respectively to stop them tarnishing.
