I think it's about 1.75" or maybe 2"??? I'm thinking Fox since they have the more common size compared to other brands.

It's usually printed on the shock spring like 650x2.8, which reads 650 pounds per inch by 2.8" stroke.

Mike
the spring size is usually .2-.4" longer than the stroke of the shock to allow preload to be applied. my fox 7.5x2 shock uses 2.29" stroke spring. the only way to measure stroke is either look it up with the bike manufacturer, or get out a ruler and measure it. my guess is it'll be 1.75", as the standard size shocks around that are 6.5x1.5 and 7.5x2 or 7.875x 2.

Mmmm...how much you looking for? What spring is on it now?

It's for a buddy of mine that has a 2000 Norco vps-2. His current shock, according to him, is shorter than the stock one (he destroyed the stock Vanilla R that came on it and now he has some cheapo replacement). So I'm trying to figure it out for him.
