(xp) I don't mind the automatic updates but based on all reports, I do not want to install the IE 7 update. I don't use IE anway if at all possible. I usually go the "custom" route so I can see what is getting installed. I declined to install the IE update, but I can't get rid of the reminder. Anyway around this?

thx.

No, you can't get rid of the reminder if you have automatic updates on. It's now flagged as a "critical" Windows update, so it'll constantly pop up.

I turn off automatic updates. Just take a peek once every few weeks and see if anything new has cropped up, and download it yourself.

It's not compatible with Quickbooks Pro. My hubby installed the update, and had to uninstall it. QB even sent out an announcement that there were issues that weren't resolved yet. I've heard rumors of other conflicts also.
