took the red pill
Was thinking about a WRX as I always liked the way they look. Until now.

When did it turn into a station wagon egg? WTF?

What happened to this?

Mind you, I'm out of the loop. I've been driving a corolla for a few years. Looking to step it up a bit. Had a VW wolfsberg Jetta before that. First VW, Last VW.

Why do auto manafacturers make vehicles look more ridiculous every year? If this is what's out there, I'll probably keep my corolla CE (crappy edition)

The regular WRX sedan is reportedly faster than the hi-zoot STi "wagon egg." A lot cheaper too.

edit: Buy a used one in the body style you prefer and STFU.

Cars are looking more and more stupid because this is the fukking future and that is how things work. Did you not see Back to the Future part 2?

I'd take the wagon over the sedan as pictured. they are ugly period compared to the old ones, fair enough, but i'd go for a little cargo space over a new sedan version.

and for those wondering why there was a change, it was for the WRC. they were able to lighten it a bit and shorten the wheel base. look at Citron, the For RS200 and majority of the other factory rally cars in Europe. This is not as much the case here in the States with the Mitsu Evo and various other sedans from the 70's 80's 90's still kicking like Escorts, Audis, BWM, and such.

I would get the RS200 over the STi if it was available, but it's not. So go Subi - for now. (Evo 10 for tarmac though!)

I don't like the shape of the hatch, the opening is to small making getting bigger items a pain to get them inside.

Now that's a real wagon.

There are quite a few STI's running around out here. I didn't like them much, but as i saw more of them on the road, they grew on me. There are some that are lowered a bit. Looks like the STI is wider than the others. I think they look cool.
I think I would actually rather have a Legacy GT wagon though. I don't need a complete race car, but something like that would be fun and have tons of room in it for gear. My buddy has one. He's got a little bit done to it to make it faster. It's way fun to drive.

Agreed. Love my Outback. Plenty of room for all of my sh!t and also some decent power. The new Legacys come with an optional 3.6l h6 too so if you really want to have some fun that'll do it!:thumb:

The first scooby I had was a 2000 outback sedan... I LOVED that car, mainly because I could take it just about anywhere offroad....but I always wanted a Wrx so when that chance came I sold the outback to my parents and bought a 2003 Wrx... It's def a fun car to drive and it is pretty easy to get hooked on modding. The only thing that sucks is traffic... When you have a pretty stiff clutch and a somewhat annoyingly short 1st gear it can make traffic a pita

It's also got about another 200 HP to the wheels with the work he's done to it now. I love "sleepers". I'd love to have a car like that. Way cheap, and way fun to drive with plenty of power whenever you want it. He tunes it by laptop. It's pretty pimp.
