The fact that I'm saving $50/month on cable tv (going without) and about the same on high speed internet (don't ask, don't tell) is FANTASTIC. I love not having TV, for the most part. Times do seem to get a little dull around 10pm when all I want to do is be a turd on the sofa with a bowl of popcorn and a PBR.

So I joined Netflix, the deal where you get DVDs through the email. I haven't seen that many movies in my life (just watched all 6 Star Wars for the firm time over the past couple of weeks ... and I'm 26 years old). I'm looking for some good movie recommendations from y'all.

I've seen most of the recent blockbusters, so what I'm looking for are the lesser-known films. Here are some titles I like, so you have an idea:

Serenity
Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid
The Great Escape
Anything Eastwood
Kunf-Fu Hustle
The Island

I can't do horror movies and have just recently gained a liking for Sci-Fi. Anything where have to think about what you're watching is good.

So, what are some of your favorites?

THE BURBS!! best movie ever
I'll agree with you on that one! The old Dragnet with Hanks and Akroyd is great, too.

Good suggestions, I've only need Fight Club out of all those so far. Keep 'em comming!
