I know that DW said he would post something soon but I suck at the whole patience thing. anyone tried/know if they fit...even if there is some grinding/knob removal involved?

Im stoked to get out on that bike for more than a few runs. Props to Todd and DW.

I don't know but as soon as I get mine I'll see what I can try out. I plan on putting a Push'ed RC right away. They come stock with a 5th so there should be pleanty of room, the DHX does have a smaller spring dia. right?

the problem is that the resevoir has that propedal knob which sticks out farther than the arm for the 5th Element. im wondering if the shock can be fit with the resevoir in a different position.

The 5th is quite a bit bigger volume wise than a Vanilla RC (so it has a bigger spring, resevior, shaft, and body).

The DHX is almost exactly the same volume wise as the 5th. I had both of them side by side to compare, they are very similer size wise.

Don't take my word 100% on this, but I have heard (from somebody I consider reliable, who apparently spoke to DW) that they do NOT fit... no matter how you rotate them. Bit of a bummer, the DHX's feel pretty nice (at least bouncing on them anyway :D)

you crack me up....one day I see you at N* and you can be heard across the mountain "I should be getting my new M3 soon - that bike is sick, sickest bike ever"...

summer goes by and you're still on your old V10 - then change of hearts...now its the same story about how you guys will be on the new V10's and you should be getting yours soon....

NOW the new best bike ever is the Sunday... hahahaah...

PS: Yes I'm at work..life sux.

funny how kwikly things change...and halfway thru this summer i swapped to a demo 9 because SC sold my medium frame the week before durango...that was fun. i also swapped my zoke for a 02 ex-pro bike boxxer (colin baileys fork) after some evan tweaking its kinda working.(externally lubed of course)

finally got to ride the m3...the new v-10...the yeti...the turner... and the iron horse(originally just to kill time) and the damn thing blew me away...braking of my demo..pedaling of my v-10, wieght of the m3 if not less, and corners better than the turner.

and just to make u feel special luc...every boxxer i rode at that demo didnt even compare to the fox forx on the same bikes. night and day difference.

PPS: sucks about the whole work thing....but at least u have the chance of a ride after work?

Why is that supposed to make me feel special? That coming from a guy that pushed twice on my Boxxer in the parking lot then said "meh..my fork is better!" then when I asked "why is that?" you said "oh mine is way more predictable...it's much better" hahahahah...that's after pushing on it twice in the parking lot. ;)

What can I say Mikey...I like my Boxxer and you know that - my opinion may change when/if I get to ride a Fox, but I haven't yet. But I can tell you this, I find the new 05 Boxxer line much more aesthetically pleasing than then Fox – but you’re right, function before looks.

What is the actual spring Dia. though? I thought I had heard that they increased the spring size to some non standard size like 1.87" or something weird???

No, even though I could really use the money. I've wanted one of Alex's bikes since I first saw one of his creation's in a mag. I don't think i'll ever sell it. It's a piece of Mtb history and will hang in my garage right next to the '94 Klein, Marzzochi XC500 shocks, and a Hanebrink (no it isn't history but i can't seem to get rid of it  ).

Here's the scoop on the Sunday in regards to the fir of a DHX shock. We just rcvd the correct length DHX right before the trade show. Based on the production 05 Sunday the DHX will NOT fit. We are working on addressing this issue and if we can come up w/ a quick for it.

The frame was designed around fit of Progressive 5th Elements and Avy's. When we were doing development on this frame these were the two biggest shocks on the market.

If we can't find a resolution for 05 frames it will be addressed for mid-season or 06.

Hi guys,

Ive been playing with making the DHX fit the Sunday, but the shock's propedal valve and the arm that suports the reservoir is much closer to the eyelet than any of the other shocks on the market. For the current bike there is contact between the lower link and the propedal knob/ reservoir arm. The shock will not fit with the reservoir in front. The reservoir will hit the downtube. It is possible that a remote reservoir version will fit the bike if it is made.

In other Sunday Shock news, I fit up a new Avalanche short reservoir piggyback shock on the bike last week, and it looks bad ass. Feels sweet too, but I havent gotten to do any DH runs with it yet.

Not sure, I'd have to bring my bike to the shop I work at and bust out the micrometer calipers. I think the spring is slightly larger than the old RCs, but it's definitely not as large as a romic or anything.

Not sure if the remote DHX is exclusive to the 05 turners or not, but it would seem like intrest from another company might help fox decide to release them for after market sales.....

my Vanilla spring fit my DHX, despite its not supposed to. The Manitou spring i'm running now is like a mm or two too big, but i shimmed it too keep it properly centered.

Actually, it was the bottom out knob on the end of the resivor. Push was going to take a few MM off it if i remember correct.... On the Med and Small 5spots there potential for crash. I run a DHX without the big knob on my bike with no troubles.... but its not approved bu turner....
