Cold and rainy, perfect day to light up the fireplace. If only our fireplace was usable.

Carbide chains are sharpened, got a couple more loads of logs out, working on sorting and piling the last of the slash to get hauled Tuesday, hopefully I can get the last of the rock down before rain starts
sharpened chainsaw...love the stihl sharpening tool. coffee on porch. being dragged to see a play in a park by le wife. sigh. might squeeze in a ride this afternoon?
Thanks for the reminder. I need to sharpen both my saws.

So both my saws are < 70 cc and thus, came with safety chains. Any benefit to be derived from going to a yellow chain? I accidentally grabbed one last time around but have never mounted it.

Gonna be sunny and 80 here.

That reminds me I need to have my chimney cleaned and insert inspected
Samesies. Could use a cleaning, inspection, and chimney cap. We wont use it until that gets done. Could also probably use some repointing of the top couple courses.

The anti-kickback chains are terrible for production and speed and even more of a pain to take down the rakers when needed. I always consider those chains to be the insurance indemnification for stock saws on the shelf; they get tossed if one comes across my bench.

For clean, fast cuts I will run either a full comp or semi-skip chain and usually will run a chisel bit mostly all of the time since it tends to cut longer than a chipper-style tooth. Chisel is also a much sharper profile.

Just finished cleaning mine.
I've got a brush head and my neighbor has poles, I've done it myself before but I also want a full inspection on the insert (the company that installed it also does the service) so I figure why clean it myself when I'm gonna be paying them to do it.

My chimney is new. I use a rotary brush that connects to a drill and clean it from the inside.

Well Ruth's competition is finished. She entered 3 classes and easily won all 3. She is getting ready to head home. Me? I'm stuck here as the on-site medic for another 6 hours.
don't forget to clean the camper and trailer for her once you get home, too

There is no greater evidence for the lack of a merciful God than doing your own plumbing in a house full of women. :fie:
that reminds me that I need to ream out Shelob’s Nest soon

and by that I mean the shower drain in the master bath
