Yup, any "reaction" (including new ones we create) can be defined as positive, neutral or negative. The thumbs down one is negative. They're arbitrary, though, I could make the thumbs up one a negative reaction.

Any room in an algorithm to give someone negative points for incorrectly applying the monocle response?

Could we have a negative response any time someone misspells ‘looser’ for ‘loser’?
There's literally a "bad spelling" reaction for you to self-administer those negative points to your heart's content.

We can't have pinkshirtphotos running around with no way to punish him for his spelling mistakes :monkeydance:
