Morning monkeys. LONG day at our first home meet of the season yesterday. Wasn't a great meet for Alex. She won bars, 2nd on vault and floor, third on beam and ended up 2nd overall. Today I have a big pot of homemade tomato soup to start on in between lessons and probably going to tap some trees to prep for syrup.

Not a great sleep, but not bad either. Have been having some wild dreams lately. Scary ones, but not falling off cliff or side of bed scary, the ones where ya kinda want it to continue.

Knee still hurts when walking, when pushing off. Wtf I didn't even do anything to it, screw off.

Bailed on riding today.

I hear Mt Bohemia is pretty sweet :D

I know MI skiing sucks. Waiting in traffic making a 2.5hr drive 4-5hrs, paying $200+ for a lift ticket and then spending the day standing in line instead of “skiing” and then stopping for a $35 bagel and a $20, $2 can of beer sounds waaaaaaaaaay better. God fuck CO skiing.

edit: unless you’re at Cooper, Loveland or Monarch. . .

My 1.75 hour drive on Friday was 2.5 hrs on Friday night… but because it was snowing and thus people were slow down the pass.

Singles lines were probably 10-12 min at worst.

but the cop about the food price is certainly legit. And I’m ok with that. :)

Ugh food prices are insane at some resorts. I paid this for a shitty poutine and beer on Wednesday. They call a regular pint a "large", lol screw off with that.

Will the missus even have a place to show off her lip filler and fur coat après-ski ?

Also, LOL at an activity with a term like après-ski

Was it good? My 'out of QC' poutine experiences were horrendous. Flagstaff was truly an abomination.
Not really, not $18 good. I mean it at least had real cheese curds but the gravy was pretty meh. Also cold, which is the worst.

Am currently at Monarch. Confirming shit-fuck conditions.

Also, I took the dogs for a walk before we left. Found a patch of ice underfoot and went down hard. Left elbow currently swollen and neck and back are hurting in new and weird ways from normal. I may be about to call it a day.

It’s raining here.

I feel appalling vistas of years stretching behind me, while at other times it seems as if the present moment were an isolated point in a grey, formless infinity.

Morningish Monkeys.

Had shitty breakfast at the lodge with Lil Man then off to the skate park. The skatepark is shitty, too. But it's something.
