anyone have good advice for a surge suppressor? i have a basic strip model but my cable box doesn't go into it, and perhaps that was a reason why my A/V receiver amp partially died.
Make sure it a UL listed TVSS and 330V clamping rated.
Anything else is probably garbage cause its not tested/confirmed by UL.
UL lists/test TVSS "Transient Voltage Surge Suppressor" devices and tests to as low as 330V clamping/suppressed voltage rating. Although lower (not higher) voltage ratings are better, UL only tests to 330V, so 330V is what you want to look for.
