could someone who knows whats what when it comes to suspension, espescially single pivots, please explain a few things to me. when it comes to pedal bob, what is the cause? is it the downward force created when the rider forces the pedals downward or is it the forces on the chain? how and why does a high or low pivot affect pedal performance? how does chain growth/pedal feedback/leverage ratios(falling rate/rising rate etc) etc effect the ride? do any of these effect pedal performance? i was speaking to the morewood designers on wednesday and they said the main reason for switching from pure single pivot to pull link/rocker configuration for the makulu was to lower the center of mass and make the leverage curves easier to tune to what they wanted. would that be the only reason or is there a pedal performance related reason as well?

This is a long conversation better held face to face. Ask someone at your local bike shop.
Agreed, and there's a great many different approaches/opinions on how it exactly occures, and how to deal with it. There's some decent reading to be found on the interblag...but be warry of the BS.
