Hey all, just joined.

Suspension to rigid is nothing new but my problem is I have a 1" steer tube.
I cannot find anything that is "suspension correcting" in a 1".

Anyone have any suggestions. I'm desperate. I looked into fabrication but that's $$$.

I have an '04 Fat Chance Wicked Lite, that I converted to a single speed.
I have Manitou 3 on there now. I love the bike they just don't make frame like this anymore.

MANY THANKS

I'm not aware of anything suspension corrected for a 1" steerer. I wasn't even aware 1" was made as rrecently as 2004.

Custom fab is pretty much your only option. Or something that isn't suspension corrected.

Another thought... that the internals out of your manitou and put a solid metal rod in it.

Yah, my frame is 15 years old. But next to custom you can't can't steel like that anymore. I've actually started to look into taking the shock towers out
for a solid bar. But that's also not as easy as you might think.
I'm waiting for some people to get back to me on that.

thanks

An axle to crown measurement would be more helpful than just a 'suspension corrected' fork.

394mm -- http://www.universalcycles.com/shopping/product_details.php?id=16181&category=85

Edit -- A quick measurement off an old RockShox Mag20 gets around 420mm. So that one is an inch short.
Thank you for the link. This will be my back up.
I actually figured out another solution. I'm going to try a Surly Cross-Check
fork. Rake and length are almost the same. Bit longer on length. I dig the style of it. Yah it's a cross fork but I run with a narrow tire and no front break so it should work. I'll let you know later next week. Thanks again.

You should consider the sag you're used to from the suspension fork as well, and subtract this from the suspension fork's a2c to get the right a2c for a rigid fork. (Usually about 25% of the fork's travel or thereabout.)
