I think it's the reservoir that will hit as you come to full travel. If you mount it in the same way as a Fox RC the reservoir will hit the frame again. It's just down to the reservoir being longer.
Install the shock without the spring and cycle through the travel and then you can see where the problem is.
You don't have to remove much from the bottom of the seat tube.
