James, we discussed Sycamore in another thread...however, after seeing the other thread about Sycamore that's popped up in the forum (sycamore/pt mugu), I do think we're talking about different Sycamores. I was talking about the one in San Diego/Poway, which is by no means an epic or incredible ride, just a local fireroad/trail network with a little singletrack thrown in.

Oops...sorry.

So for those of us who WISH we could live someplace kewl like So Cal what are the conditions out there? Are you dry yet?
Ah, I think Death Valley is pretty dry right now. Don't know if there's any off road there, but I've heard full moon road rides are fun.

Both ends of the state got a pretty good soak over New Year's. I live south of SF, and the mountains and trails are still very wet in spite of a week or so of sunny weather. Trails were pretty rideable this past weekend, but now the forecast for the next few days is a little more rain, though not on quite as epic a scale.

It's nice and dampish and tacky out here in San Diego. Erosion has been a bitch in spots, but the res of the trail dirt is generally fine (and tons of fun!) to ride on now. Lots of repair work to do in places, though.
