Hoping one of you Norcal monkeys can help me.

My fam and I plan on spending a week camping @ Tahoe. Last year, we stayed at Emerald Bay and had a blast. This year, we are looking for something more private, on the lake or on one of the lakes, or just a nice scenic campsite that one of you guys can recommend.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Several spots I've looked into are;

Sugar Pine Point
Camp Richardson (may be overcrowded)
Tahoe Valley

Would rather camp in South Tahoe but we are pretty open to anything.

If you are talking about summer, all of the campsites will be crowded, and most of the good ones are probably already booked. I've stayed at Sugar Pine and it's nice but not as scenic as the Eagle Point campground on Emerald Bay. It may be too late but there are a couple of sites at the tip of Eagle Point that are somewhat secluded so perhaps you can reserve both of those. If you really want privacy I'd say look into renting a house on the lake or maybe Fallen Leaf Lake or Donner. Otherwise, sharing the campground with loud asshats and screaming kids just comes with the territory...
