I'm thinking about trying a 24" wheel in the back on my hardtail for more cush.

I want something really tall so that the smaller diameter doesn't slow me down too much on the trails.

Which 24s should I check out besides the Nokian?

I have run every 24" tire out there except the Kenda. The tallest 24", without being too big is the Arrow Prime Bite 24x3.0.

It actually measures in at about a 2.7 but the sidewall is huge. You could go with a Gazzo 3.0 but the tire is just too wide and the sidewall is about the same as the Arrow. I currently have a Highroller 2.7 on my wifes Big Hit, which has a big sidewall but not as big as the arrow.

Jenson has the 24x2.7 Maxxis Highroller on sale right now in a 50D compound for $14!!!!! I paid $18 total with shipping for a brand new tire.

If money isn't a big deal, get the arrow. The sidewall is huge and the profile is round. Its a great rear tire.

Definitely (I run 26's) but run Nevegal's front and back and dig em more than anything else I have run..And I pay for my tires...

sits as high or higher then a XC 26" tire.
make sure your frame can fit it. and are wanting to 3-4lbs to your bike

My 24x3.0 Gazzy on an Arrow DH rim was about equal to a 26x2.1" tire.

Not as good as the Electra Fatty-O, in whitewall of course. It's the biggest "conventional" sized tyre I've ever seen
