I have been to St Johns and Gander. St Johns is a lot like Portland ME. If you like Cod then you will have plenty to eat. It is a cool place. It is the oldest English speaking city in North America or something like that. Its a neat place.
The area around Gander is like Maine. Lots of rocks and little ponds. Bugs. Bring bug spray if you plan on going outside even on the water. The Torngot Mountains and the Fjord lands are beautiful but very remote. It takes a whole day to get there, and another to get back to St Johns. Worth the trip. Bring a Camera with Batteries.
