I'm very close to make the change from hardtail to full suspension by purchasing an Iron Horse Hustler. For the price, I just don't see how I can do any better, and the new suspension on the 2002.5 model seems to be highly rated. I'm not too keen on the grip shift of the Hollow Point, and for the extra $500 would rather upgrade the few (if any) parts I'll need to on the Hustler. Before I go through with it though, is there any reason I shouldn't buy it?

Well, seeing that you mentioned that you don't live near a Supergo, I'm guessing that you haven't ridden it. Who knows, you might hate it. But in all likelihood you'll think it's just dandy and everyone will live happily ever after.

If you are really from NZ, I think the Hollowpoint complete bike would be nice since its such a good value, it would be hard to find those parts on the frame alone for so cheap - you could keep the stuff you want as spares and sell the rest. If you really don't want any parts, you can do the same thing as PeteNJ, buy the frame alone. Maybe if you call/email Supergo, they can special order it for you. MSRP for the frame is $650, but a good LBS will let you have it for $550.

Yip, I'm really from NZ. You're right, the parts alone on the Hollow Point would be worth more than the whole bike if I was to buy them here. It's a cash thing though, and an extra $500US means an extra $1040NZ. I thought about the frame only, but if I pay a bit more and get the complete Hustler (same frame) I can chuck all the parts I don't want on my old bike and sell it to get some cash back. Thanks for your help....

the new hollowpoint and hustler have a new Weaglised suspension design, kind of a cross between VPP and Ellsworth's ICT (sort of..... just the way it moves). the G-Spot doesn't have this.
