I test rode a Fisher Paragon today, which was my first ride on a 29er bike. The bike I'm really interested in is a Rig, but the Paragon is similar frame wise and it is what the shop has for demo.
All I can say is on Monday a Rig will probably have a new home!
Really, the 29er was way different than I expected, and personally it was way more fun. I tested the Paragon off some jumps and on some woodwork obstacles on the trail, and it felt great. Initially I thought the bike would feel like a barge in a backcountry creek, but that was not the case at all. Yeah on some flat sections it felt a little slower, but I don't think it really was (I didn't have a computer or HRM) the difference was just my inexperience.
