from the dangers of socialized medicine. Without your tireless service, 40,000 children in Arizona would grow up to be healthy adults, burdened by the fact that they survived due to the evils of Socialism. Now they, like our good forefathers, can die for the cause of Democracy and Capitalism like any good patriot, self-confident that they spurned the evil Socialism and made our democracy safe for the next generation of young people who actually *do* have health care...

Sullivan also raised another possibility: the Senate version of the healthcare reform bill, which is scheduled for a vote in the House on Sunday, contains a "maintenance of effort" provision requiring states to maintain any children's health programs that are in existence when the bill is passed. In that situation, Arizona would not be permitted to discontinue its SCHIP program, she said.
No matter what I thought about the health care debate before, I hope they pass it Sunday if for no other reason that this. Adults, low income or wealthy, young or old, sick or healthy I could really care less about but kids are innocent victims of assbag politicians agendas.

Glad we can count on your support. :thumb:

I'm dealing with my (retarded) family on this subject, and can't believe that "good, upstanding Christians" are against this bill. Up to 45,000 people die in this country due to lack of health care. Are we really willing to look those people (and their families) in the eye and state "I don't care that you're going to die, I'm not going to pay to save you." When it's someone that they know (in church, family/friends/etc) they will absolutely open their wallets to help whoever it is, but when it's a nameless, faceless number they're more concerned with what the cost is going to be FOR THEM, and use cute little buzzwords like "entitlement program" or "socialized medicine". It's a lot more palatable than saying "I think you should die, because I'm not willing to pay to save you" and good, upstanding Christians would never say that...

the largest chunk of conservatives and brednecks are a funny bunch...
you can convince them to send their kids to die in a war they wont get any benefits from... to reduce their services so that taxes on others can be reduced so they can dream they will be able to buy things they will never afford.... and you can talk them out of health care and convince them the idea of state paid doctors for their poor kids are evil....

The more the insanity in this country continues, the more I see citizens using slurs like nigger and faggot the less proud I am to call myself american. I am truly ashamed of what we've become....I made mention of Rome and it's demise in another thread and like all great societies we are due our just desserts.
