Key quote:
Key biblical quote:

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; ... Even though I walk through the dark valley of death, because you are with me, I fear no harm. ... God lead us into them, and lead us on in them.
Reebus shall see us through, and I for one find your lack of faith disturbing. Then again, I suppose that should be expected from the harbinger of doom :thumb:

Note that Mazda didn't cheat, it's possible to do it right:

"Japanese regulators told the WSJ that tests of Mazda’s CX-5 and its Demio (internationally known as the Mazda2) resulted in lab and real-world tests that were almost exactly the same.

Japan has offered tax breaks for people who buy diesel cars, which are promoted as greener and more eco-friendly than gasoline-powered cars."

You know if I had the cash I'd be totally tempted to buy this!

Nope, Nope and definitely Nope.

Was rear-ended in one of those many many moons ago.
Not much left of it - anybody in the back seat would have not fared too well - unless they can go incorporeal by will. My stomach still does knots when I see one.

Got lucky on that one.

Build details, w00dy? Li-ion, NiMH, or Pb? How many kWh? AC or DC? Going through stock transmission?

'squeeb: I'll be checking my phone right after rehearsal tonight to see when I can reserve if my D/Autopilot/reasonable price including said options criteria are met. Tesla's website says online reservations during event.

Ah. That isn't happening for me: in my own personal CT/MR reading salt pit then dress rehearsal in Littleton. I'll have barely 20 minutes to scarf down dinner at home before switching out the Land Cruiser for the wife's RAV4 EV for the slog south.

It's a factory electric vehicle. I just put new batteries in the case and rewired the battery manager to fool it into recognizing fewer cells of a higher voltage. It's still short range, lead acid. I wanted to go cheap and buy some time for the charger infrastructure to shake out a little bit. When these wear out I'm looking to go high range with a fast charger.

Describing a battery in Ah without specifying voltage is super useless.

Still snake oil (as it has been when that same company has showed other prototypes) until the chemistry and mechanism are revealed. Key questions: How much energy input is necessary to store energy in these two ionic solutions? What's the efficiency of conversion? What is the byproduct of the reaction? What would it cost to fill up those two tanks? What's the infrastructure for that?
