I know it's happened to you.

It's in there.

You have NO idea why you know ALL the lyrics.

You can't get it out.

You hum the chorus to yourself, then catch yourself doing it. People around you don't understand why you're so cranky.

Then you share your burden, unwittingly making enemies of your coworkers and friends. (because now they have the same lame song stuck in their heads...)

Today:

"Sailing" by Christopher Cross.

I read the title of this thread and nothing else. Your attempts to get some stupid song in my head have failed.

The worst is when my son has been watching Sesame Street and I get the Elmo's World song stuck in my head. "Lalalala, lalalala. Elmo's world!" The horror.

I always share the love by humming it in range of my wife and, whenever possible, my mother. It drives them crazy.

So I tell you what I want... what I really really want.....

That is a favorite of mine to say around the office. The girl besides me laughs and sings while the big douche bag on the other side gets pissy and redfaced as its stuck there for hours.

It works well to piss off a few people on long climbs.

I always get "Danger Zone" in my head when I'm descending.

There was something funny on Somethingawful.com a while back; "how do you ruin someone's day in four words?"

Answer: "Dip trip, flip fantasia."

Funny.

No?

You're not confusing Styx with Criss Cross are you?

"A gathering of angels, appeared above my head,
they sang to me this song of hope, and is what they said...they said
Come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me..."

I swear to you that those guys were playing in Austin on Saturday. OK it was a crappy cover band, but I didn't need much convincing. Lone Star and Sierra Nevada makes everything sound like Men without Hats.

Ha! I won't even say the certain witch dr's name who has this as his ring tone :busted:
How does that work, a song for a ring tone? I thought about it yesterday. You like it enough to have it, so you assume you would want to hear the whole thing. Right? Or you dislike it enough to never want to hear it, so what's the point? I guess I just don't get it. It seems unsatisfying to the user, moreso than annoying to the rest of the world that don't want to hear stupid songs anyway. I really don't get it.

Europe - The Final Countdown. I'm going to kill them if I ever meet them. Guts on the wall type sh1t.

Also, less long-term recent ones, Mattafix - Big City Life (still actually like that), Jay-Z - 99 problems, and anything by Flock Of Seagulls.
