The Beast Is A L I V E ! ! !

I finally got everything attached & installed & so far, so good.

I ended up using my old brake cables & housings as I'm saving the new ones for my future disc brakes. I did clean the housings first w/WD-40 & lubed them with Phil grease (or similar Park equivalent)

Maybe it's just me, but it seems a bit lighter - it shifts great - just like my old bike (Fuel 90) and I really like the new riding position (changed stem & bars).

I have a photo or two coming, but my digital camera's batteries just died, so we'll have to wait . . .

T H A N K Y O U ! ! ! to everyone who helped me out on this project. I took the advice from many & learned several things - next time, LX cranks & black rims from Sun - but, as is, it'll do - a gigantic improvement over what it used to be, for sure.

Improvements include:

new wheels/hubs
new rim strips
new tubes
almost new handlebar
new stem
new shifters/brake levers
new bb
new cranks
new cassette
new front derailleur
new rear derailleur
new seat
new chain
new brake pads

from previous upgrades:

pedals
grips
tires

I know there's gotta be something I forgot . . .

It rides great & the rims weren't that bad outta whack - especially the front was really close . . . I've "tensioned" the spokes, ridden the wheels for a bit & done my first truing. The back wheel is just a tad out of round - I'll fix that. Of course, I'm going to have to check the tightness & adjustment of everything as I go, but so far, it shifts great - on & off the stand & brakes are adjusted & work well & I'm happy.

I didn't install the Sycros headset yet - waiting for the new fork before I do that. YIPPIE!!!

:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Nuttin' wrong with that, although it does look like it could use some stickers :D
