I'll take her too. Plus the chick from Ferris Bueler's Day Off.

Does today's generation have any such defining movies?

Add to the ones above -- Sixteen Candles and there are even a handful more.

The generation before us had Diner, Animal House, and other defining movies too.

What's for today?

That's a good example, but is it too generic? The movies above aren't just from the time period, they are the time period -- music, fashion, attitudes.

It's been a while since I've seen SLC or Go, but perhaps them?

Did you see the same American Pie as I did?

I think I only saw the first one. *shrugs*
How are the music, attitudes, and fashion not reflective of the movies' generation, any less than the music, attitudes, and fashion of the movies of "our" generation?

uhh, I didn't say American Pie wasn't. I shrugged cuz I didn't see the other two. As such, I'm not qualified to comment on the series.

But hey, we can keep beating the topic if ya like.

Yes, 16 Candles, Breakfast Club, Pretty In Pink, all defining movies of the 80's...

as for today's generation, i'd have to say it would be the American Pie's, Van Wilder, Bring it On...

oh, and for MR or AS... i'd take either or both... i'm not picky :)

(but if I had my first choice... Jennifer Garner!    )
