I was one of the old school FSR mafioso from waaaay back. I have had at least 5 or 6 of these bikes in the past. In fact my Kona was the only non FSR I've ever had! :D

I am stoked! I ordered my Deemax yesterday and all that's left is a small parts order and I'm ready to start building.

To cause a stink with all you Hope  er's!

No really, I just think I'd go with Avid/Shimano/Hayes El Camino before going Hope.

The Chucker (Curb Hucker) PM'ed me and explained the awesomeness that is Hope in full detail. I guess I'm just a push-over ;) Plus they are light and that's key!

I got the e.13 DRS "urban" today and a Shimano 36t ring, stoked! Let's see also got a Thomson 70mm 31.8 stem. Still need some Easton CNT 31.8 bars, WTB Rocket V stealth Ti and some 9spd XT/XTR pods but that's about it!

Got word from Fox today that there has been a small delay on the 36's & 40's :( bummer...

Didn't say exactly but I'm hoping the operative word really is "small". I am close to buying a Sherman FireFly to tide me over at this point.

Well I bought a camo 20mm Sherman Firefly to try out until the 36 is ready. So now all I am waiting on is the Deemax which shipped a week ago friday so I should have them any day now. I also need some bars and I ordered the Easton 31.8 EA70's but Veltec was B/O'd so I ordered some Pro Taper OS's (same bar I think). I can't wait!!!

the left stanchion looks weird. is that really on it or is it just the pic??
The flash just brings out the image of some sort of liquid. I don't know if the stanchions are impregnated with some sort of oil or if it's just part of the anodizing process but my TALAS and many other forks I've had are like that if you look closely in good lighting.

I didn't get it on a scale but I am pretty good at estimating and I think it's not more than 7.5 and not less than 7lbs. I think the complete weight will be almost exactly 34lbs.

I think specialized deserves comeback of the 2000's award...the company was in bankruptcy haze a few years back, but that Merida buyout has really escalated their product IMO...I used to not like much of anything they produced, but the last 3 season they have come out with bikes that not only work well-but look awesome too. There revolving door (going through employees like I go through toilet paper) has also slowed down and they seem to have a good crew in there now-as a matter of fact long time Specialized Team wrench Joe Buck (made famous as Palms mechanic all those years) is in house as a member of the product management team.

Their carbon road stuff this year is off the hook I think...congrats to them for making a big turnaround and congrats on your new bike-I just saw one at the bike shop the other day and it looked sweet...not near as pimp as my Intense 5.5, but the baddest looking asian bike for sure.

Give us comments on the shock when you ride it some. I heard somewhere that you can't switch out to a different shock on that frame without voiding the warrantee, apparently.

That's sort of a bummer, but the newest air shocks seem to be getting pretty nice...

I'm sure you can switch to the 5th coil that comes on the trail version, I have also seen a DHX mounted on one. The rear shock mount is awesome, it has four sealed bearings pressed onto an axle and the front has a spherical bearing to allow for slight misalignment of the frame or mounting tabs etc. The suspension action should be pretty smoove like butta.

I want to move to BC!!!
From what i heard, switching between air to coil shocks on new enduros requires a different upper shock mount.

As for the warranty... almost any bike company considers a shock change as a modification of a frame which voids warranty... sounds lame to me...
