Some things I've had buyer's remorse with but never with camera gear.

Buy a Pentax camera, the remorse will hit hard.

I also agree, buy the lens!
My 150-450 with the 1.4X is the main lens I use, I wish the thing had stabilization but Pentax don't believe in that.
Oh and the ability to lock it anywhere in the zoom range, or at least no zoom creep.

Save your money on the GoPro Hero 13, It is no different than the 11 or 12 and just has a new line of very expensive, subpar and exclusive accessories that only work with the 13.

Battery life is worse, the sensor is the same, software is the same.

Insta 360 still has a much better cam

Even though it was raining and windy I went out to shore acres to test the PZ lens before the anamorphic arrives so I can get some reference footage. The light was terrible and there was so much mist and rain it almost comes out as noise and was hard to get the wave contrast to peak. I shot this file in Slog3 10 bit color at 4k and it still was a bit dingy. I should have tried both native ISO's to see if it performed better at 2400

Got a screen test of the first anamorphic to arrive yesterday,

The lens is the Sirui 75mm anamorphic with a modest 1:33x squeeze, its not as crazy wide as the full frame counterparts but still has a good aspect ratio and feel

I opted for the 75mm first due to the guilty pleasure of its depth of field and artifacts compared to the other 3 focal lengths offered

I am shooting with the FX30 in Slog3 CineEl and using rec709 in order to get 16 stops of dynamic range and 10 bit color. I am using a 3D lut and zero real color grading just to see how easy the footy can be edited in short form for quick stuff. The lens is pretty damn sharp for an anamorphic and seems to do well with the huge span of range, the highlights dont blow out and you can still make out the blacks and shadows. I ran the Eastman lut in the monitor in order to get the metering and exposure right but the camera allows for +- 3 stops on each end in post but I kept it flat for the test. I used a 12 stop variable ND on the matte box to be able to keep the fstop at 1.8

Super impressed. I have the 35mm on the way and it will be much better for scenics and wides, I upload to youtube since it gives me a good idea of the compression at resolution so I can adjust post-production color grading and sharpness accordingly

Goign to shoot a ton more test footage while the weather is nice to get the most dynamic range and log tests I can since it will be the same for the 35mm while I am waiting for it to arrive.

Whats your take on the look? I like to hear what general viewers think of the look and style, 4k viewing is best
