It's crazy how close to 'side by side' old dune buggies were. Thank god a company like honda never fully developed them. Gave us a good 30 years of being free of the things before polaris picked it up :D

We've got a polaris general (more utility version of a razor) and god that thing makes work better on roads that aren't roads anymore. But damn the world was a better place before...well, you know.

Here I am about to lose my fucking mind stuck behind some douchebags creeping along a dirt road in Utah. My off-road vehicle is a VW Golf R.

There is a German third-party company that will do this to a range of small cars for $5k. They'll do it to Volkswagen Polos, Seat Ibizas, Skoda Fabias or Fiat 500s.

It invloves changing the rear axle and de-tuning the engine to only 15kW. This is to re-classify the vehicle so that anyone as young as 16 can drive it.

Allows 16 year olds to drive 2 years earlier as it’s classified as a three wheeler. But good luck accelerating and merging onto the Autobahn with 15 horsepower.

At least it's an ethos
Better than nihilism for sure. I still can’t believe that thing got certified in this regulation loving country of all places. And I seriously think that any passenger car under 100hp is a safety risk on the Autobahn.

Fun fact: Hawks are diurnal. The US ‘Nighthawk’ is neither a true hawk or nocturnal. It hunts in the evening and sleeps at night.
