So my buddies 3 year Plaid lease is up. His lease balance is $86k. A new Plaid today is $82k.

Sometimes a lease isn't a bad idea. He said he's never done a track day, but he can do 0-60 in his driveway, so there is that. He has a nice list of options he's considering for the replacement.

My wife took her Forester into Subaru for an oil change last week. She drove it in, parked it, went to the lobby. 5 minutes later the technician came and found her. "Hey, did you know your car won't start? Does it have problems starting often?"

My wife said, "did you try pushing the clutch in first?"

Thanks for reminding me.
They are fantastic, unfortunately I'm with @Jm_ on it. My Corvette was so stupid reliable and the parts were dirt cheap. I really need another one while I still can.

<edit> there was an article a while back about how the suspension setup in that car is so good, it's considered the gold standard for performance setups.

Doesn't the steering suck on these cars because of the reciprocating ball arrangement? I remember reading that BMW said they would have designed it differently had they realized people would love the car so much. Like the car has a great engine and handling but the steering seriously lags behind its capabilities.

Also, I love these clickbaity articles. Even if you buy the best E39 M5 on earth, it's still a 20 year old german car, with all the baggage that comes with that. At least support seems to be there when things fail. Would love to own one but it's gotta be a second or third garage queen car.

I just know the 5 series suspension is supposed to be all that. I've never heard that about the steering.

Fire sale! $14k is a bargain, until it breaks.

In court documents obtained by TechCrunch, Fisker is asking the presiding bankruptcy judge if it can sell the remaining 3,321 Oceans in its inventory. Fisker wants to sell these orphaned Oceans to a New York-based leasing company called American Lease for a total of $46.25 million. That breaks down to just $13,926 for each vehicle. If the court allows it, that’s the cheapest Oceans have ever sold. Originally, a Fisker Ocean ran from $41,437 to $63,937 MSRP, just earlier this year
