How much was it?

Its sad. This Ranger is what a "small" truck should be, not the current size of Ranger or Tacoma. :(

I've been browsing different options for a used car. Looking at something like the Hyundai Elantra GT; needs to be a hatch/wagon and be able to fit a bike in the back with front wheel removed.

The options are pretty slim out there. :(

It was listed for $23k.

<edit> I've had 5 trucks and a 4 Runner from '85-93. The square body 84-88 are awesome, but the extra cab is just a package tray. The V6 is terrible, but the 22RE (fuel injection) 4 cylinder was awesome. Those trucks were the perfect size.

Aussies with the diesel HiLux is perfect. An early '90s diesel Toyota is a Grail truck for sure.

The new Maverick is the old Ranger.

I would make sure I had a warranty if I purchased one with 91k. The ones that I have seen fail were well maintained.

The old world
Two years away for Americans, but I'm tempted to get one next year if no one comes out with a halfway affordable electric wagon until then. Looks even better in this screenshot than in the press photos in my opinion:

America will get also get a long wheelbase version, this is the shorter Euro edition.

Hopefully more than 300 miles range with that footprint, although wouldn't be hard to hook a generator up to it...

Hey car people

I was just looking at hybrid ford trucks to see what I'll be able to buy used in 8 years and it looks like they're doing a few different versions of these for 2022 models. (and only 90 bucks for a blockheater option @slyfink !)

Is anyone ford or otherwise making a hybrid that actually has a 6ft bed?

edit: jeebus, nevermind ford. 42k and 25mpg.....

anybody else?

The Maverick is really the best "truck" option. The bed is a usable size, but not awesome.

Ford Lightning Pro. Don't click any option boxes.

$40k - tax credits. But good luck finding and getting one for MSRP. (Also 5.5' bed because that's what normal people buy.)

(Also 5.5' bed because that's what people who don't really need a truck buy.)
People buy sedans with exterior cooler space. Doesn't mean it's what the rest of the world who actually uses trucks wants.

I don't need a comfortable 4 seater. If I did I'd buy a not truck. Like the ford lightning body style. Can't even sleep in the back of the damn thing.

99 style tacoma with an electric motor would be so god damn awesome.......but everyone's building sedans

6' bed. Fold down sides. Cheap since old. Perfect

I hope you like 660cc because that's all you're going to get

You wanna have a toy hauler or a set car for your reenactment of Mad Max?
I want a truck that even I, ridemonkey midget can actually stretch out in the back and sleep in......next to a motorcycle with the tailgate closed.

That then can handle a sled deck to carry two snowmobiles in the winter. I'd even take less payload for one sled if it matched the above two.

Lots of these trucks match most of the above but every single one of them falls short primarily on the bed. Because sedan, just with a convertible hatchback instead of a real bed.

The chevy 2500 I have is awesome for all the truckshit™ but it's an absolute gas hawg that would be awesome if it were electric. And I paid 14k for it.......
