Sometimes it just blows my mind, any old idiot can just go down and buy a Tesla plaid or whatever no questions asked. It’s not like there is safe legal places to go 150mph. America is rad.

Supposedly the worst thing you can do for the environment is have kids, so, 12 kids?
Average lifespan of cars in the US is 12.1 years. Average annual emissions of a passenger vehicle is 4.6 metric tons of CO2. So, 55.66 metric tons of CO2 emitted over it's lifespan.

Average annual per person CO2 emission in the US is 16 metric tons. By that math, one car lifetime = 3.5 people years. So one 3.5 year old, or 3 one year olds. Or 12 cars smushing one 42 year old.

That's a morbid exercise.

You have it backwards. That three and half year old has used 16 metric tons, with a life expectancy of about 80 years you will generate an additional 1224 metric tons. So really a gasoline car just needs to take out someone 76.5 years old or about 22 cars running over one 3.5 year old.

A lot less morbid than your argument.

Wow, actual science, nice!

The average adult puts out about 100Wh of heat energy, not sure that would change the equation much though.

Years ago I bought a license for "pipes" software which will calculate the ideal exhaust configuration for a given engine under specific conditions. I think I get 10 installs with it if anyone wants to play around with it.
So the answer isn't always "5" fart can"?

Surely you need to aim young? Otherwise they've created a lifetime of CO2.

I am pretty sure this exists. There is a vid on the interwebs of a F1 (?) technician “playing” an ICE like a horn, which I assumed would require this type of tech…

The vid might even be in this thead somewhere…
I don't think playing a tune would necessarily require that. If it were at the resonant frequency for the flatulence of the engine then one note would seem louder than the rest, but to generate the frequencies just requires hemming to a particular rpm, afaik.
