Jesus. You just got me to lol. Wifey gave me the look from hell.I dunno, not having engine noise to drown out the screams of your passengers while silently hooning it into a ditch at 90 sounds pretty visceral to me.

How many people would an ICE car have to take out before it was carbon neutral?totally unacceptable
because it's not electric
Supposedly the worst thing you can do for the environment is have kids, so, 12 kids? How many people would an ICE car have to take out before it was carbon neutral?
Average lifespan of cars in the US is 12.1 years. Average annual emissions of a passenger vehicle is 4.6 metric tons of CO2. So, 55.66 metric tons of CO2 emitted over it's lifespan.Supposedly the worst thing you can do for the environment is have kids, so, 12 kids?

Average annual per person CO2 emission in the US is 16 metric tons. By that math, one car lifetime = 3.5 people years. So one 3.5 year old, or 3 one year olds. Or 12 cars smushing one 42 year old.
That's a morbid exercise.
Wow, actual science, nice!Average lifespan of cars in the US is 12.1 years. Average annual emissions of a passenger vehicle is 4.6 metric tons of CO2. So, 55.66 metric tons of CO2 emitted over it's lifespan.

So the answer isn't always "5" fart can"?Years ago I bought a license for "pipes" software which will calculate the ideal exhaust configuration for a given engine under specific conditions. I think I get 10 installs with it if anyone wants to play around with it.
Surely you need to aim young? Otherwise they've created a lifetime of CO2.You have it backwards. That three and half year old has used 16 metric tons, with a life expectancy of about 80 years you will generate an additional 1224 metric tons. So really a gasoline car just needs to take out someone 76.5 years old or about 22 cars running over one 3.5 year old.
A lot less morbid than your argument.
For maximum impact yes, but an old will suffice if you just want to break even with a new car.Surely you need to aim young? Otherwise they've created a lifetime of CO2.
Give the elderly new cars and that would work itself out.For maximum impact yes, but an old will suffice if you just want to break even with a new car.

It would also create jobs rebuilding storefronts.
I am pretty sure this exists. There is a vid on the interwebs of a F1 (?) technician “playing” an ICE like a horn, which I assumed would require this type of tech…Argues for an exhaust system with dynamically adjustable resonance.
I don't think playing a tune would necessarily require that. If it were at the resonant frequency for the flatulence of the engine then one note would seem louder than the rest, but to generate the frequencies just requires hemming to a particular rpm, afaik.I am pretty sure this exists. The vid might even be in this thead somewhere…
This looks like a truck, sitting on top of another truck… then they blended the lines.
Plug-in hybrid, no less, assuming it’s the 4xe we’re talking about.Customer just purchased a Jeep Wrangler Hybrid. I didn’t know such a thing existed. The more you know.
Yes apparently it is. I guess I have been under a rock and did not realize Jeep was doing so.Plug-in hybrid, no less, assuming it’s the 4xe we’re talking about.
So... Chrysler ICE/drivetrain *combined* with Chrysler electronic drivetrain?Yes apparently it is. I guess I have been under a rock and did not realize Jeep was doing so.
It is quite nice. His wife who will be driving it works within the range of electric only.
I don't think its their electric drivetrain, it'd all be sourced from suppliers...So... Chrysler ICE/drivetrain *combined* with Chrysler electronic drivetrain?

And I'd presume, being Chrysler... they'll source the cheap ones?I don't think its their electric drivetrain, it'd all be sourced from suppliers...
Stopped watching him ages ago, got bored.this guy's garage...
I think everyone did. He made enough to get like an 18 car garage and I haven't seen him again.Stopped watching him ages ago, got bored.
From the article:Honda TypeR did a three port exhaust too: https://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/car-technology/a10032609/why-the-2017-honda-civic-type-r-has-three-tailpipes/
Kinda looks like a sperm/tadpole.
