I know, but I still want it. I checked out the G70 and it's tiny in the back seat anyways. I need a larger car until the kids aren't riding with me every day. Regardless, I want a wagon. If car prices ever go back to normal, there may be a v90 in my future.

The A4 is pushing in, not gonna lie. The box makes sense a lot of the time. A more square back end would be way more helpful.

I really wish more Americans were down with wagons, there are so many cool options that never make it to the states because they sell so few compared to SUV's.

Which is a shame, as most "SUV's" these days are just glorified cars with more ride height.

I saw an RS6 wagon the other day, so someone out there is on the right path.

younger brother had a wagon of one of those...may have been shy of 200,000 before it died...

older brother had the other ugly duckling of the vw family in knoxville....vw quantum syncro wagon...
My girlfriend->wife had one of these when we met. She let me use it in my formative days of dh. Big nostalgia seeing this. Hers was white. Great, simple, cheap cars.

I sort of appreciate the engineering here but the moment you think even a tiny bit bigger this is a ludicrously wasteful and inefficient way to turn an axle in 2022. We have the science and technology to tranfer energy hugely more efficiently and directly into torque and power than via this convoluted mess of wasted carbon dioxide, compromises and other terrible externalities (including ‘a survivable environment in 30 years’).

Guys; finding better ways to control toxic explosions really really isn’t enough anymore. As a species it’s fucking childish.

Can’t we simply stop celebrating and investing in our own destruction?

It’s not a one to one. Lithium batteries can be recycled but once you burn oil well it’s not coming back. Agree mining is shit and we are talking about lesser evil.

Omg I am hung over so bad.

Wait till you hear about iron ore mining, and copper, and nickel, etc. etc.

Sorry but fucking up a few hundred square kms of the planet isn’t vaguely even close to the impact of heating up and making our entire planet unliveable for nearly all lifeforms. Seriously one is a graze on the finger snd the other is multiple gunshot wounds. Climate change is a whole different league of bad to digging some big holes.

Don't worry, the majority of species is fine in climate change scenarios....because most of the diversity of life is in the domains Bacteria and Archaea. ;)

There's also a difference between a "normal" car and what Steve showed. Most of these vintage cars won't even go through a tank of gas per year, they'll sit there in someone's garage for the rest of eternity.

At the end of the article it says while the jeep owner is at fault the dealership insurance is paying. Dude should sue the dealership for defamation, or at least a non murder jeep.

Who's paying for his legal expenses and stress involved? It makes no sense, he's not at fault for anything.

So here's a question for you car monkeys: what's the best way to get a new "key" for a locknut?

I just finished swapping my summers on, and while I was going around checking the torque on my last wheel, the locknot slipped and is now stripped. It won't tighten anymore.

I suppose I've got time now, since the wheels are on, but I should probably get that sooner rather than later. Is my best bet to go to a garage? A dealership? A locksmith? For Canadian monkeys, is this something Canadian Tire can do?

The car (and locknut) is 10 years old, so I suppose it doesn't owe me anything...

hopefully your key is ok so you can get the others off. I usually find a socket I’m not to concerned about and hammer it on there. Or weld a nut onto it depending on circumstances. But I’m thinking that’s not your bag.

Read the story. Evidently there's some laws or bullshittery that prevents the family from suing the dealer, as in negligent training and putting them in a position where they'd obviously encounter manuals...without checking to see if they could actually operate them.

The judge indemnified the guy that owns the jeep though and is requiring the dealer's insurance to pay out whatever damages are "against" the guy with the jeep.

It sounds dumb as hell, like rubes put in some laws to "protect" businesses so the family's only recourse is against the guy with the jeep.

The attorney also said the dealership cannot be sued because of a legal standard preventing an employee from suing their boss for negligence, which, in this case, would be the hiring of someone who should not have been driving.

Can anyone provide some insight to the "TRE" attached to the pitman arm? It doesn't look like a normal TRE. Almost looks adjustable...? Is that just for setting up the steering and determining final length of the DL? Or is it something else?

Also, neat to see spring-under shackle-forward on a rig like this...
