The Cut Announces Final Stop on World Championship Slopestyle Series!
Diablo Freeride Park proud host of Cut Finals

Bethel, CT — The Cut is proud to announce the final stop for their signature Pro/AM slopestyle series to be held at the East Coast’s Premier mountain bike park, Diablo Freeride Park, on September 9-10th, 2006.

“This is a really exciting opportunity for The Cut and Cannondale.” says Cut manager Kara Chase. “We could not ask for a better venue. Diablo is the cream of the crop for mountain biking in the States.” The Cut and Diablo have also partnered with Decline Magazine, Toyota Trucks, SRAM/RockShox and Red Bull to develop this event.

“Finally, there’s an event that will break out of the ‘pro-invitational’ standard,” says Decline Magazine co-founder Scott Hart, “It’s about time a contest included the amateur riders with the pros!” The unique open Pro/AM format allows amateur freeriders to compete amongst the world’s best slopestyle riders.

The course will be designed by Cut and Red Bull pro rider Aaron Chase and the renowned Diablo Trail Crew. “The course will be designed to give amateur riders an opportunity to test their skills against some of the world’s best freeriders.” explains Diablo Freeride Park General Manager, Shawn Orecchio.

Registration will be open on July 15, 2006 at diablofreeridepark.com. The cost of registration is $75 for the open class and $65 for ams. All entry fees include 2 days of lift tickets.

Open prize purse is a $7,000 paid out to the top 3, first place taking home a hefty sum of $5,000. Decline Magazine has also stepped up to the plate offering a $500 bonus for the “Decline Rider’s Choice Award”. Amateur awards include a Cannondale Prophet MX for 1st place, a Cannondale Chase for 2nd place and Sram/RockShox/Magura product for 3rd-5th.
