Not the Welsh?
Yeah maybe but they don’t really seem to have much of an economy anymore. Or services. Or an effective political voice. Or a constructive social structure. Bit of a mess I’d say. Maybe Ireland could adopt them or something.

You have some real issues, @kidwoo.
And you just said an entire culture doesnt deserve independence because they have no "economy" and need a babysitter.

What should they be taught? Manufacturing? Christianity? Textiles? How should they gain the right to exist without boris johnson looming over them in your eyes? Making batteries for bosch?

The sound you’re hearing is probably the glib sarcasm whooshing over your head.

Here it is again: said:

To be serious then, (it’s Sunday night though dude ) the points I raised are real problems Wales would have to overcome to be a functional nation. Independence would be very hard for them. They’d need a lot of immediate financial support from the EU (presuming they would immediately join independently).

So it's gravel riding?
There is actually some great (and varied) riding in Wales, but there is also massive structural unemployment, drug overdose deaths, and decades if underinvestment in basically everything and a similiar gpd per capita to Estonia or so. There’s some pretty beautiful bits too but socially it’s pretty grim in general. Thanks decades of Tory rule.

WT actual F is the Department for Levelling Up?
Post brexit there was a realisation (of something that had been true for years) that a lot of the country’s public infrastructure was a ‘bit shit’, especially in the north. Levelling up’ was the phrase used to describe the need to fix all this stuff up to an equivalent quality of the stuff in London and the south east.
