Any of you guys watch it? I picked up the last hour and was actually the least impressed with the three most popular candidates. O'bama, Hillary and Edwards.
I thought Kucinich came off the best of the bunch and is clearly the smartest, most prepared guy out there. I imagine its his overt eccentricity that will keep him from getting the nomination, but I think he'd make a hell of a VP if nothing else.
Clinton is a politician robot.
Obama, while I wanted him to come off well, just isnt that great off the cuff.
Edwards is just a douche. Dont know what else to say.
The two old guys were good as well, but seemed to be ignored as well as the hispanic guy for most of the night.

Edwards scares me. He's a closet religious fundamentalist and whether christian, muslim, jew or other... fundies scare the crap out of me.

I agree completely.

But is America ready for a FLILF?

Said it before, I'll say it again, from what I do know about Kucinich, (which is admittedly not that much), I do agree with most of what he says.

And Amy Polher does a great impression of him.

He has some points but he probably should have left off the UFO thing. I don't care if he did or didn't see one, it won't help in a Presidential campaign.

I didn't learn anything as a registered Republican starting to think Independent. I tried to listen with an open mind but I don't pick up a lot from EITHER parties debates.

After studying alot about FDR and gov't programs in the depression, it sort of turned my thinking a little bit on some of the pertinent issues. Right now, people are just being taken advantage of in too many ways. If expanding the government is a means to a better life for most of the population, than so be it.

I agree, some industries need to be reined in....banking comes to mind. I didn't see the debate, I was in bed :)

The problem with expansion of the government these days is that it is done in an extremely inefficient manner. No healthcare reform will happen that doesn't put more money into the pockets of the insurance and drug companies. It could help some people who can't afford it but it will end up costing everyone else more money. Sure a sensible solution could be found but the lobby's would never let it happen. Maybe I've become jaded but I've come to the conclusion that our process is broken.

Id like to see a complete overhaul, to the point that insurance companies are essentially rendered irrelevant unless you want to pay for some kind of "happy ending" supplemental or private care.
I know it's a pipe dream, but maybe what this place needs is a real dramatic change.

I agree, the whole process is messed up. The lobby reform is being bypassed by companies funneling money through 501c charities to pay for trips for Congress.

Maybe someday we can go back to the ideals of the founders in as such that serving as an elected official at the Federal level was considered an obligated service to your country and you did it, did what you could and were ready to return to your way of life. Politician should not be a career choice.

It would never happen, the insu business is too big. Even if the insu companies didn't just straight up bribe the politicians they would fund a huge media smear campaign against any politician that supported it. All they have to do is claim that "insert name here" cost the country 10,000 jobs.

Now what really pisses me off is when the gubment does do things to cost jobs but keeps corporations profitable you never hear about it.

Yeah, there is lots of political smearing going on these days. I was thinking about it the other day...people are against "socialized" medicine, but we have socialized retirement (but its never called that becuase socialized is a foul word in this country).

A pacifist vegan has as much chance of winning a presidential election in this country as I have.

Which means Kucinich is going nowhere. I think he's pretty cool, but he has zero chance.

Ten years ago you would have said the same thing about a borderline retarded coke head who has failed at almost every job that has been handed too him. This is the land of opportunity.

A borderline retarded coke head knows how to lie, cheat and steal his way into our hearts like no vegan pacifist ever could.

I didn't watch the debate, but I think I may end up voting for Kucinich because I am ready for a FLILF! IMHO, debates don't give you much of and idea what a candidate would do while in office making decisions at their desk.
