The LG is good size. I wish the BB was a bit lower maybe 13.25"? Geo wise it looks good though....

There doesn't appear to be any missing links on that bike.

It looks good to me. But it'd be way too much bike for most trails here.

Neat that they finally made a bike (other than the Phoenix) with reasonable reach numbers.

As noted, the BB is too damn high, but 26" wheels would fix that. Geo does look good otherwise.

13.25 with 170mm travel? That would mean it's around demo levels on a bike that is sometimes meant to be pedaled.

I love the bike though. If only Pivot had a better reputation and I had more dentist offices (currently 0) so I could afford one, crack one and then be rich enough not to care.

The 12.7" on the MEGA was fine for the most part....some crank clangs but just needed to keep track on rockier terrain.
I think it very much depends on the trails you ride. On many of them I'd love that bb height but I remember riding the mountain of hell quali track on my dh bike and 13.7'' felt low as hell and I dragged my bash to a stop a few times

If anyone's interested in what BB height their trailbike should have based on a DH bike, I made a little calculator a few years ago. You only need to change the front/rear travel values for the trailbike, but the other values can be edited too. It can be downloaded (or you can wreck my google sheet, I don't mind).

I updated the title to reflect new R&D by @StiHacka .

The calculator says for a 170mm (6.7") travel bike (like the Firebird), a 13.51" BB would be ideal, in case anyone is wondering.

That falls dead on with the actual BB height of my Rallón. Nice work!

Even if you only ride dental-smooth flow trails, every once and while you'll catch a pedal on a berm as you try to lean the bike at speed. Not cool. It's the same retardation pushing towards 59 degree HAs and 15.8" chainstays, because going further is always better...
