Not sure if serious..... But the french are not a race.... They are a country... Full of assholesWhy? Because two popular non french riders got caught cheating? That's worth a racist comment?
Hmm...Don't you hate it when you have to explain the joke?A couple observations to some observations.
1) the French are assholes
Why? Because two popular non french riders got caught cheating? That's worth a racist comment?
I didn't get it. I have to admit I never watched Dumb and Dumber. Did I miss something?Hmm...Don't you hate it when you have to explain the joke?
"The French are assholes" is a line from Dumb and Dumber. Perhaps I could have made that more obvious with expanding on the line and the context. But I thought that was a universal joke that even the Frogs get? Racist? LOL now that's funny.
But now that we're talking. It has nothing to do with who got caught, I could care less. From my limited reading on the topic, isn't it the French, and only the French, that decided to do drug testing for the France EWS? And aren't they the only ones that have been known to enforce rules that no other country does? Like requiring back protectors in DH? Hence me picking on the French with jokes. But I could be wrong, but jokes are still fun. And I do love the French.
Also, as someone else mentioned #finallysomethingtoargueabout - just having fun here.
Oh man, you gotta see it. It's a classic. But it's probably not everyone's sense of humor.I didn't get it. I have to admit I never watched Dumb and Dumber. Did I miss something?
But... but... I just sharpened my pitchfork!Surely, given that we have; photos of the supplements Graves was previously taking that do contain one of these relatively newly-banned substances, a quote from him saying he hasn't necessarily been vigilant about checking the updated banned substance list because he'd always passed previously and now a positive test the simplest answer is that he continued to take them after they were banned and didn't realise.
I at least find this much more plausible than the proposition that these two and only these two in all the tested sports everywhere somehow got a tainted batch of commercially available RP supplements or even that RP was whipping up secret sauce blends for these guys and that's why only they have tested positive.
Keep the faith man, no one on here is going to extinguish my torchBut... but... I just sharpened my pitchfork!
That's why I stopped taking supplements when I trained a lot. It was basically puting random stuff into your body and taking someones word for it. Now to think of it did Pole bike guy work in suplements before?not only that, one other thing that hasn't been raised is the possibility of counterfeits. in the pharmaceutical realm, this is a HUGE issue, and those are companies with much tighter control over their manufacturing and distribution than unregulated supplements. in pharma it's a multi-billion dollar problem (i've seen numbers as high as $20 billion globally). and that's a heavily regulated industry. supplements are totally unregulated, so i'm sure counterfeits are an even bigger problem.
BINGOJust out of curiosity - why the fuck do athletes/people/whomever take "supplements"?
Aren't supplements just modern-day snake-oil?
Probably depends on what "supplements" you're talking about. While I do think a lot of the magic potions and elixir powders you see at GNC are (expensive) snake juice, if said supplements also contain "asthma medicine" and stimulants similar to Adderal, then I suspect there are real benefits to be realized. Maybe not as much as straight up blood doping, but tangible performance benefits nevertheless. As someone else might have already mentioned, there seems to be a lot of elite athletes with asthma. Who knew?!Just out of curiosity - why the fuck do athletes/people/whomever take "supplements"?

No, they work if you use the right ones for the right reasons.Aren't supplements just modern-day snake-oil?
Pitchfork shooting shotguns FTW!! With lower mounted flame throwers if you wish.Btw, someone needs to make a pitchfork torch (Torchfork?) so we don't have to carry 2 things.
Hey, if beer was good enough for Egyptians to build those many pyramids, it's good enough for me to ride once a week.I just try to get all the nutrients I need from beer.
So that makes at least three of us on this program and bafflingly, not a single top tier enduro racer amongst us (or positive test to my knowledge, so good work on that one guys).Hey, if beer was good enough for Egyptians to build those many pyramids, it's good enough for me to ride once a week.
Make that 4. That said, I've got @SuboptimusPrime working on a new PED (Performance Enduro Drug): Agonist infused beerSo that makes at least three of us on this program and bafflingly, not a single top tier enduro racer amongst us (or positive test to my knowledge, so good work on that one guys).
Speak for yourself! I'm knuckling down on my training, getting some coaching and really concentrating for 2019. Only the ones that don’t have PED’s in em.Aren't supplements just modern-day snake-oil?

The problem isn't that some of the substances work or don't work. The problem is the market is so incredibely unregulated you can never be sure if the claimed stuff is actually in it and you're not ingesting placebo or if the dosage is right. Seriously you will get better consistency and guarantied consistency from a coke dealer. Here to start a suplement brand you just contact a company abroad and tell them you want 70% penis juice and 20% roid rage and 10% chemtrails because you read about it in the forums so you can sell it to idiots. Of course someome smarter than you may know what he wants but a ton of suplement companies are not very rigorous about testing their products. Why would they be when a) you won't test their products b) the human body is complicated and you may never know if the change in performance you should feel in a few months is due to suplements or just getting more sunlight.Probably depends on what "supplements" you're talking about. Intended only for completely unregulated "full enduro" competitions, my custom "Logger" is fortified with a unique blend of beta-2 agonists and EPO with just the right hints of meth and PCP. Top all that off with 14% ABV and 328 IBUs worth of tongue searing hops and you're just a 6-pack away from belittling your friends, riding partners and spouses both on and off the bike. Keep an eye out for my kickstarter page which should go live any day now...

Obviously not, they have amphetamines and O2 boosters in them!Just out of curiosity - why the fuck do athletes/people/whomever take "supplements"?

Not defending anyone... but back when I was in university, I worked in a bar. back when you could smoke in bars. I was getting bronchitis all. the. time. (like maybe 3 per winter, and then once or twice in sping and summer). I went to the Dr a few times, and they suggested I get tested for asthma. The testers agreed that working in a bar wasn't great, but also determined I had "sports-induced" asthma. I got a puffer for it. I guess it's a pretty common thing. Maybe human bodies aren't meant for long-duration high-intensity exercise, and this leads to inflammation of the upper-repiratory tract in lots of people? In any case, seems like an easy way to obtain a TUE.As someone else might have already mentioned, there seems to be a lot of elite athletes with asthma. Who knew?!
Most supplements are junk. Besides creatine. Supplements that have worked for performance were either anabolic steroids that were not classified so gray area legal and sold as prohormones. Most these are illegal.Just out of curiosity - why the fuck do athletes/people/whomever take "supplements"?

Also, there’ve been a lot of interesting news reports over the years about the shady Utah supplement industry, if you guys want to read up.70% penis juice and 20% roid rage and 10% chemtrails
Just my own experience, but in playing high school football, high school tennis and innumerable pickup basketball games growing up, only 2 people I knew actually had asthma and the associated puffer/meds. I guess its possible that some others either had it and weren't diagnosed (despite never showing any signs of asthma around me) or had it and secretly used asthma medications where no one could see them (including the coaches). Point being, it just seemed pretty rare in my admittedly anecdotal experiences. But perhaps its really not and my experience is an odd outlier - which to your last point, would certainly make it a very common TUE.Not defending anyone... but back when I was in university, I worked in a bar. back when you could smoke in bars. True, which means that they just need to start drinking SuboptimusPrime's new PED Logger, available soon at GNC stores and gas stations (right beside the dick pills section).Asthma cases among kids are increasing generationally due to environmental factors in polluted areas... though I’m not sure these enduro guys grew up in the superfund Bronx or Delhi or whatever.
What could happen when combining @SuboptimusPrime PED and dick pills? Asking for a friend...True, which means that they just need to start drinking SuboptimusPrime's new PED Logger, available soon at GNC stores and gas stations (right beside the dick pills section).
That's almost exactly what our bodies are designed for. Some people's bodies just didn't get a thorough check by QC.Maybe human bodies aren't meant for long-duration high-intensity exercise
Picturing you in short white shorts and striped socks playing tennis is filling my mind with such bliss that even illegal drugs could not match.Just my own experience, but in playing high school football, high school tennis
Ah, plenty of them work. They're usually just an expensive way to get protein/carbs/electrolytes in a convenient form. The pre-workout type stuff is usually just massive caffeine hit, with some guarana or whatever for getting the body-builder brah types all hyped up for chest beating in front of the weights racks. By the sounds of it, some of those pre-workout mixes have got some dubious other ingredients to give a bit of extra "pep"Most supplements are junk.
Half the top TDF riders seem to be asthmatic nowadays and only recently diagnosed....Asthma cases among kids are increasing generationally due to environmental factors in polluted areas... though I’m not sure these enduro guys grew up in the superfund Bronx or Delhi or whatever.
Even if you accept that these guys didn’t keep up with the banned supplement list, Oxilofrine is found in weight loss supplements. Why would JG and RR being taking weight loss pills, if not for the performance enhancement benefits? I don’t buy it.Surely, given that we have; photos of the supplements Graves was previously taking that do contain one of these relatively newly-banned substances, a quote from him saying he hasn't necessarily been vigilant about checking the updated banned substance list because he'd always passed previously and now a positive test the simplest answer is that he continued to take them after they were banned and didn't realise.

And one wonders how I ended up wearing Crocs, shirtless, surrounded by empty PBR cans and huddled over a greasy camp grill burning the shit out of Food Lion brats in the Beech Mtn parking lot.Picturing you in short white shorts and striped socks playing tennis is filling my mind with such bliss that even illegal drugs could not match.
