what a PITA getting the shoulder bolts back in is.

i still cant get the final bolt in no matter what. it seems to be still 1-2mm off from catching the threads of the flip chip. i had to walk away from it last night or i would have smashed the whole thing

Hmmm... I had a similar problem with my frame.

Sometimes it has a lot to do with the order in which you are performing assembly.

Loosen the shock pin (bolt) to get some play in the DELTA link up top. Then down below try to engage the threads on the Flip Chip...

OR

Engage the threads on the Flip Chip 2 or 3 turns and then try to ease the shock bolt through the eyelet. You may need a second set of hands to do this with someone pushing the shock into place.

tried all of that. i dont have the shock even in the frame anymore. 3 of the 4 bolts went in fine, the last is still a few mm's away from catching the flip chip threads...it seems the bolt doesnt want to go into the i-link with the new bushings installed...i tried to lube up the inside of the bushings too and it worked for the other 3 w/ a extra set of hands..the 4th is mocking me

well apparently you have to install the bolt to the DELTA link, then install the flip chip bolt...dont know why, but it made it easier and i was able to install all the bolts.

ohh the problems with first gen frames..

Not exactly sure yet if it's a 1st gen. quirk OR if there is a certain order in which the linkage is to be assembled/disassembled... I'll get in touch with the guys and see if there is anything to this.

hey guys - ordering a revolt in the next week and wanted some insight on the sizing - im around 5'10" and am coming off an 08 iron horse sunday team medium - just wondering if anyone has made a similar switch or is around my height on a medium or a large and what it feels like to them. - i really loved the size of my sunday so im hoping to get the frame that will correspond the closest to that. - thanks a ton - cant wait to join the club!!!

chup - I am only 1" taller than you and my previous ride was also an Iron Horse Sunday. After some testing at the beginning of the season with both a Large and a Medium, I decided on the Medium. The geo is very similar to the Sunday and the Medium suited me perfectly. The only real difference is the longer wheelbase, but that's a good thing when you need stability at speed. Due to the adjustable Head Angle and Flip Chips - it's also pretty flickable.

I'd say the Medium would be perfect for you (provided you are of average proportion without super long arms or short legs, etc.).

Setup : Revolt in large - flip chip slack - head angle +1°(slack) - fork 583 mm (head to crown) with zero stack head set (e13) - maxxis 2.5 swampthing.

Stack : 599 mm
Reach : 391 mm
effective TT : 610 mm
TTm : 545 mm (center to center)
wheel base : 1200 mm
Chainstay : 435 mm
head tube : 120 mm
Seat tube (center to top) : 430 mm
bottom bracket high : 340 mm

If I remenber you got a large one too. Are you ok with all of my measures?

For istratetm : this is what I measured : I was surprise too at the bigining, but don't forget the stack : nearly 600.

Hey everyone! After talking with the guys at EVIL, I posted a sizing chart on the main page to help answer sizing questions.

Super - I'm working on a reach/stack measurement to add the the sizing chart but it's a bit difficult to do this since there are many different points to measure from depending on whether you have a direct-mount stem or a clamp style stem. For this reason, it may be difficult to post measurements that are accurate.

Basically I mated a stretched inner tube with a modified T.H.E. front BMX fender. Works really well!

As far as a production one - I'm pretty sure the guys are working on one as we speak, but I'll give them a shout and see what they have planned.

Was at my parents' house over christmas and managed to dig out an old THE fender! Keeping old junk does pay off after all...!

Yup - that's the general idea but I didn't have a fender long enough to run all the way down to the chainstays so I have a fender "tip" above the cross-brace in between the seat stays and below that a section of inner tube. I'll post pics once I get back to my apt.

Not sure if that's a T.H.E. fender - but it does resemble one...

They've held up to the abuse I've put them through with no issues. I'm not rough on equipment, but I'm not particularly easy on it either. I've smashed the crank arms on boulders more than a few times and so far everything seems in alignment. Great cranks!

So I've read pretty much all the info i can find on the Revolt and the Delta system but I still don't understand why it's good that the shock is compressed from both ends. Is it something to do with improving braking performance? Does it help to take full advantage of the valve system within the shock? Does it help to achieve the desired rear wheel path?

I'm very interested to know.

Also can anyone tell me how much the frame weighs with shock included? I'm getting a new ride this year and since I'll prob run the same gear on whichever frame I get so the frame is the only thing that will really effect the weight.

The "delta" system has nothing to do with the axle path or braking.
It does increase unsprung weight and the number of bearings though. That's always good.
The shock itself also works just the same as if it were anchored at one end.
