Here is a picture of the first Disco made in the "Classic Series" This was sold about 3 weeks ago. The frame has been modified to accommodate a longer reservoir shock.

Your face.
Marketing 101 for idiots ::

"If you have a rep as a sketchbag company, giving people ANY reason whatsoever to question you is a bad idea."

This includes, but is not limted to, putting photos out with ridiculous timestamps on them and saying they are 3 weeks old. Not saying its wrong, but seriously, how hard is it to tset the time on your camera?

looks to me like thats someones bike, thats all.

i mean it wouldnt be the first time someone buys a new frame and builds it up with used/old parts?

Except that Progressive no longer makes the 5th element.

I can't tell you why it had a 5th, my guess they had it laying around. You can clearly tell by the modification made below the seat tube it's a new modification. That was never there on the 2004 models.

Having owned a Disco back in the day, that picture brings back a lot of memories . . . none of which are very good. :-/ With this new batch, I'll defer to the brilliant Bush philosophy: "Fool me once, shame on . . . uh . . . you. Fool me twice . . . er . . . ummm . . . well yer not gone fool me 'gin!"

Are you the guy who owns it now?? I saw someone posted a pic of it several months ago - it was a dark blue with a pretty nasty dent in the downtube - partially covered up by an old school Go-ride DT guard. Big respect if you still have that thing running!

I wouldn't bite personally. I met old man Karpiel once, I used to race at Donner....nice looking bikes, but with some of the problems I've heard about I'll steer clear. Plus, why would you buy the "classic" when there is supposed to be some sick new model coming out??

well, that's how he might be able to afford to make a new one.....he'll scrap together a few frames from some random old parts from his 10 year old design sell a couple complete frames and that MIGHT allow him to finance a "new" design.....

What problems? There are more e-rumors than anything, how many people have came forward on the 3 big sites RM, MTBR & Pinkbike or any site for that matter displaying pictures of their failed frames from poor manufacturing? I recall seeing only one frame, and yes one is way too many. However that was at the very end of the original company. Jan built some of the strongest & lightest DH frames available, and now they're back.

The "Classic" models are still popular and will be selling for less than it's original price tag.

I dont get the bring out an old design thing.
The newly design frames are in the works (in pre-production now), the "Classic" frames are to show that Karpiel is back up and running. Once the new frames are manufactured, that will be the end of the older design. Hopefully within the next month or so I'll have pictures of the newly designed Armageddon.

Must be a decent design, Turners new DHR resembles the front end of a Disco while maintaining the same suspension design that they've been using for the last 6 years.
