Heat sinks. The seat tube ones I bought used from Kris at 44 bikes. T47 and 44mm Headtube.
will start building next week.
Great! Those look cool.

These ones from Acoustic Cycles look nice too. The ones my friend uses are a bit more in the washers and tape style. He showed me the difference inside the tube with and without the gas. I thought that was only necessary for titanium... not sure where I got that.

That looks good. Assuming you are also using the mill to cut the top tube and downtube where they meet the head tube, how do you jig it up to deal with the incline of the tube relative to the plunge of the cut?

Well I had a change of plans. Starting a gravel frame today. Mitering the seat tube later and will get it tacked and welded this weekend.

Great! I’m looking forward to seeing the progress.

I think I‘ll make a miter jig like yours for the seattube. Did you make a jig for the DT too?

Curious as to what a setup like this costs?
Too much but I like tools and need a new hobby. As for the jig and things most of it was scrap except the 8020 parts.
Would of been alot cheaper to but a frame.
Welded seat tube yesterday and will post pics shortly.

Not bad but not great.
Can I see a pic? Are you pulsing or pedaling? I have a lot to learn and practice here!

I got some tubes and I’m currently practicing tube mitering, tig welding and building my frame jig. I want to start sticking some tunes together but I need some more skills and finish some bits.

Tacked and checking alignment. It’s a little off but nothing a little bending won’t solve.
welding tomorrow.

How’s the build coming along @sikocycles ?
Any cool new shop tools?

I made some good progress on mine yesterday. I need to buy some stouter profiled alu sections though. I have frame jig envy!
Here‘s where I’m at. Also, I think I want a Cobra Miter Buddy or I need to make something like it for the seat tube mitre. I couldn’t get even close to the angle I needed yesterday.

I made this seat tube holder yesterday. Because I want to copy existing geometry, I needed to be able to pull the frame out without loosing the position. It’s not perfect but I’m going to run with it.

Was at the Philly bike show this weekend. Will work on the frame this week. Hope to have the front triangle welded this week.
