rumor is that a couple of teams gonna go after the belted purse. intense was in the mix, but it was just announced MS racing has parted ways with them.Atherton building a gearbox version of their DH bike.
Atherton Tease A.200.G, a Prototype 3D-Printed Titanium & Carbon Gearbox DH Bike
Will the Continental Atherton MTB Team race this prototype A.200.G 3D-printed gearbox DH bike this World Cup Downhill season?bikerumor.com
not (yet) ready for an ebike, but when i am, pretty sure it'll have some variation of an integrated gearbox. makes so much sense (where issues of weight & frictional losses are more or less irrelevant). and the e-shifted pinion eliminates the gripshift & (allegedly) issues with shifting under load. pretty neat:
got a source? or just speculation? And maybe a Frameworks gearbox bike too.
Neko teased something on Instagram IIRC.got a source? or just speculation?
Neko talked about gearboxes and trying to get one that is just a few speeds, but development times/costs may be prohibitive. I could see them still trying a current gearbox offering.got a source? or just speculation?
GCN on YT is going all in on Rachel claiming a win this season.
if she actually races that's who my money would be on.GCN on YT is going all in on Rachel claiming a win this season.
Supposed to be exclusively pinning this bike as it gets made ready. Would be a safe conclusion!if she actually races that's who my money would be on.
valenrs from Colombia... Valentina Roa Sanchez?
I bet we see an Atherton MGU ebike within a year or 2 now also, following this. Going to be a chonky boy though, their bikes are not light even before you add a battery.that athy is tidy af.
been saying this for a couple decades, but these make SO much sense (esp for dh application). toss in mass dampers & electro actuated suspension & this season is looking to go hard with the tech nerding.
that i wouldn't bet on, this actually just came up over on vital. aside from commuter and cargo bikes, it appears the only brands making MTBs with the MGU are nicolai, rotwild, bulls, and some company named flyer. not exactly big names.I bet we see an Atherton MGU ebike within a year or 2 now also, following this. that's kind of a catch-22, smaller brands like atherton & nicolai are too high end / niche - aka don't have the marketshare - to really drive widespread adoption of the MGU.Since Atherton can rapidly prototype like Nicolai, and are also selling bikes more or less ala carte like Nicolai, I could see them beating the big players to the punch. The big lift would probably be how to mount the battery, but maybe they'll just run an external battery like Starling. They don't have an ebike yet, and that's probably the only growing MTB segment right now (especially in Europe).
how many "big names" make non motorized pinion mtbs? exactly. an non argument.that i wouldn't bet on, this actually just came up over on vital. aside from commuter and cargo bikes, it appears the only brands making MTBs with the MGU are nicolai, rotwild, bulls, and some company named flyer. not exactly big names.
die already.how many "big names" make non motorized pinion mtbs? exactly. an non argument.
Plus. We all know mud, small rocks n sticks have absolutely no effect when stuck in the ribbed grooves of a kevlar belt. Are they sure they couldn't have put the tensioner closer to the rear tyres tread?I cannot tell you how happy I am to see the tensioner tucked up behind the box rather than flapping down underneath the bb like most brands do.
