Can we rewind it four or five years and put McCain in office instead?
Kucinich, but he couldn't beat Bush, so Edwards. At the time, I was supporting Clarke, but he couldn't carry the party, apparently.
It's not just based on who we like, but who could also beat Bush.
So no, a ham sandwich wouldn't beat him. Well, it might if it kept it's mouth closed and didn't say things like, "There are many deli sandwiches out there that want me to win. In fact, I'd say all the condiments are pulling for me too."

Out of all the Dem canidates the only one I could possibly vote for at this time would have to be Joe Lieberman.
I want to see McCain in office, but I would still rather have Kerry or Edward over Bush. I would even be happy with a Dem majority legislature with Bush in office. GW is just too far from center to also have his party controlling the Congress.
Anyone but Bush... period. At this point I don't think Kerry will pull it off... 
I did not see the Ham Sandwich in the poll so I voted other. I think Ham Sandwich could really make the world a better place. Although being a pork product I am not sure it would be able to do much with the middle east.
