That looks sketch, but fun AFA buddy sent me these from the weekend. Big ole awkward rock slab that gets skinnier the further down you go. Little marbles at the top too.
Can see other buddy just about to roll over the top behind me in this shot.
And then it keeps going. Right into a pile of wet muddy roots.
Hope V4/E4. 220mm front, 203mm rear. Sintered pads. What brakes are you running again?
@SkaredShtles should have warned you about the square edged rocks. Not sure what happened now, but this rim is toast.
Black Mountain is what happened. Not sure what happened now, but this rim is toast.
Man, you better run over those roots a few times before they get sanitized. Freakin beautiful.View attachment 149974
fun ride at good ol' best trail in charlotte not in charlotte. perfect temps, perfect dirt, not a single other rider spotted.
that's why we made the place. no sanitizing! it's meant to feel like a little pisgah.Man, you better run over those roots a few times before they get sanitized. Freakin beautiful.
You do ride!
That's not actually part of the trail unfortunately, just on the side. There are sections that are almost, but not quite, that chunky. There's one spot where it makes for a super tricky off camber corner. It's extra treacherous when it's dusty or wet.You do ride!
That looks properly chunky and sharp.
That is one stout bike for Florida! Hurricane proof I see. What's driving the upgrade-itis?Tampa Florida area Alafia River. Went through blood and bones getting air in the tires; 2.5 EXO that's function with my ProCore/25"Tube conversion just stopped holding air as I sweat to the oldies here in FL. In the tote storage were a pair of DD 3C TR that I mounted for an ESC Race, and used once. ...after trying Foam-in-There™ and ripping a hole in the tire in practice. Bike's weight is now over 37 pounds but getting off the roads here is worth it, albeit desperate for trail that has a downward crest in it.

Considering taking all the fine points of this (Avalanche, Enduro Hardware, Procore version, Coil Rear) onto a new bike. Maybe step-up to 27.5 before those dry up and go poof? Or go 29" and be accepted?? Decisions, decisions.
