the good new is that my shoulder is healing great, and is gonna be just fine for tech chunder.
The other good news is that drops like this exist on xc trails in St. George, but I am finally smart enough to know they are over my pay grade.

What's the heat factor down there?
Best weather ever. Beach is pretty damned hot but the city is at 2000 feet, catching the breeze off the pacific. Dry season is great but wet season is pretty sweaty-humid, relatively. Not worse than most of the US Dirty South.

Dry roads and warm temps feel glorious. My four-footed friend came to say hello again.

Short ride tonight, meh. I think that I will unload the fat bike from the car and put it into the shed for the the season. Good riddance!!

Icy and no studs. :busted:

And where it wasn't icy, it was like riding through molasses.

“This is such a nice bike”
What do you like about it?
“It’s so smooth!”

At this rate, I’ll be a mountain goat come summer. Hills are feeling just fine… which is a bit unusual so early in the season. I suppose that daily ride to/from school must be helping.

I was today years old when I found out the pre-rainy-season-rains are "las lluvias de las chicharras [cicadas]."

Photo taken with other finger over the core-less presta of my rear tire, prior to biting the core and unscrewing the apparently-glued-on-shraeder adapter with my other hand to get it back in so I could pump it up.

I just haaaaad to let a couple PSI out for the descent, didn't I?

That said, great ride on the new Balance. The Lyrik is a really impressive fork chassis. I am starting to wonder why I bothered to buy the Zeb, but might be in need of the Lyrik for an upcoming hardtail anyhow.
