Stopped to take a picture of these two beauts and then they started b-lining it right for us. Panic ensued trying to get away from them.
I live near a large ponding basin that is usually occupied by geese. I have to adjust my route to avoid them, especially when I'm with the kids. They are vicious bastards.

Cobra-Chickens are right vicious bastards.

Used to ride a trail that dumped out next to a little pond beside the road.
Damn near every time we rode it, ya had to pedal like a bastard after the slow speed trail exit across the field to the road. Canadian Goose-eses - Those things fucking hurt when they just clip you and if they really connect, they can snap your leg like a twig. Not something to fuck around with. Ya, that trail is now dead as far as I know.

Did the 36 mile Foxy Beaver Gravel Grinder again tonight. Last year's winner had to ride with a flag of Kim Jong Un attached to his bike, though the land of Sarah Palin. What will stacking wood and dousing it with restaurant grease do? See below. Rode my fatbike again. Put orange tape on the ends of the 800mm bars so the roadies would see and avoid my bars and not try to hook me this time. Got 9th overall.

@Jm_ if you want/ever need replacement SRAM grips that mate with the grip shifter as shown I've got lots. I always use cut down Oury's or sometimes ESI extra chunky. Probably got at least 6 sets of the SRAM's.

City bike park opened. Went and redeemed my voucher for a season pass I won at the snow DS race. Just a few hours and they have just a few trails. Sent the drop. My muscles ache tho from working out yesterday to get my back stronger so I can fucking sleep without pain hopefully. Neck especially. Went off the drop and I my neck hurt the third time around so I couldn’t look down to see where I was going, sub optimal but no crashing. Legs hurt too. Time for drugs.

How many ticks and other bugs can you count in this pic? :brows:

Had to tell someone to come get their dog, as I'm about to kick it if it gets any closer. I was off the main trail, looking at a not very used piece of fun trail, when this white little ankle biter came up behind out of nowhere barking and trying to herd me or something.

I've been bit a few times over the years and that dog was a little too aggressive for my liking. OF COURSE the owner says he just wants to play. LOL get out of here with that. Leash your aggressive dog....

Getting ready for the Round Denmark race, This is pretty close to final setup. Sleep system is sub 4 pounds (bivy, tarp, drop cloth, sleeping bag, pillow, air pad, stakes,)
What sort of temperature is your sleep system good to? I looked at the specs for my stuff and it would be about 4 pounds but nothing besides the Klymit pad is a light weight item.

Does the courtesy phone have speed dial for 9-1-1?

Coasting downhill at 25mph and idle heartrate into a dead stop when I panic endo'd trying to process what I was seeing, trying to get a license plate and trying to not get hit by a maniac, then my heartrate then shoots up from the massive adrenaline spike.

Yassir. Had no idea it was there until recently, so went down to check it out.
I haven't been there yet but my buddies went down last weekend. They said it's better than Echo! Said there's some big jump lines and such. Sounds like a fun place! Have you ridden at Wallula Gap yet?

40º Sea to Summit spark sleeping bag, with bivy I'd estimate I can rock below freezing. Meanwhile slinging the Z packs tarp will keep the elements away usually.

Yeah nice, I like the S2S stuff, the founders seem pretty cool too.
I move heaps in my sleep so I bought a quilt but that means I need an insulated mat and have to rock a balaclava if it gets cold, I'd be over 4 pounds then easily. Still yet to use my bivy, I bought it because it has a 10000mm floor and Event fabric on the top

Temp ratings usually means in that temp, you probably won't die. You sure as hell won't be comfortable without a pad, bivy, etc., and that's just at the supposed temp rating.

:stupid:

I'm a warm sleeper and find that I can usually stick to the bag's rating with some light layers + pad. Down blanket is handy for getting a little more out of that, heavier long underwear + hat even more so.

On the flip side, my wife could have a -40* bag, wear expedition weight long underwear, and still be cold in 40* temps.
