Knocked out two rides today, did 64km for the weekend. Cold still hasn't fully gone away so I hit my Max HR pretty easily today.

EDIT- Had to get a photo of a Scribbly Gum, moth larvae make the cool marks.

Got back in time from Texas for the Frigid Bits Burn Barrel on Global Fatbike Day:

Barrel belongs to Corvus Cycles (Speedway). Got some good external burn action going.

Rode the rigid bike for...more alcohol capacity

My laser beam. Because why don't all bikes have laser beams?

Also, riding comfortably in sub freezing temps on snow in the winter is a good challenge. Doing it drunk is wizard-level.

They built a new drop at the local spot. You can see the landing on the left, only two bike lengths long leading into a double that is half the length of the gap of the drop.
I guess I wait before hitting it until they have dialed it in after a couple of people have destroyed themselves. Drop is bigger than HALO in Falls City. :twitch:

Nothin' like a good poop hanging from tree sighting. Found a bunch of flags put down by a local club tied up around a bunch of trees. Wtf?

But hey good ride. Great grip with the frozen dirt.

Ski hills are trying to make snow, but it's not really working out too good this year.

With 240mm brakes and 1.8 steerer, no problem.

So I was only able to ride to where I worked yesterday on the trail (about 1/2 way) despite others having snowshoed in all the way, it was just to soft past where I had been working on it. I'm not sure if everyone else is slacking or my methods are just that good, but it rode well, I rode it back and forth until it was pretty smoothed out and I had no dabs. Another big storm is forecast for tomorrow.

Red sky on the way to the trails

Felt a lot warmer than One.Nine

Intersection where it wasn't possible to ride anymore (opposite direction of bike). I concentrated on just going over my section and setting it in good.

Snow bridge I put in (over creek), holding up well.

Another snow bridge, also doing good.

A few trails are rideable…as we are about to get hit by another storm. No trolls.

I put this rest-stop on the side of the trail yesterday:

Rode to it today

The other trail crews have been slacking though, this was good to where I stopped yesterday, but crap after that, rideable tread only about 6" and deep on each side if you have to put a foot down, like falling off a cliff deep.

ftfy. Thats the worst. Ok almost the worst, not as bad as squishing the beans trying to get going again as you stomp on the pedals and inevitably fall over and onto your back in the snow. With the bike still racking your nuts.
