Our ride got spoiled by some gnarly thunder and rain, but we still got in some good trails.

Some of the rocks were a little puckering, being wet and slightly green.

I still haven't ever even tried to ride this. It just looks destined to introduce my knee to the rock.

I don't know what the fudge is going on, got on the bike today and my chest felt weird if my HR got up, then I got a pretty short sharp headache just for fun, yay.
Rode slow and took photos of flowers.

Must have seen 1000 orchids today and a good few of these Lilies-

Later I went for a night ride with my dad because he wanted to use the light I got him for his B day.
It was just a slow ride, he said he'd done 40km earlier in the day.

Race run at the Monster Energy Pro Downhill Series. Riding an Ibis Ripley AF aka baby sunday, about to get passed by a Giant Faith. 30 seconds were between start times, was passed twice. Told those guys behind me at the start line, I will let you pass just say when. Both passes were clean in good spots. :rockout:

Had a good ride in what still feels like summer. Even the wait on the train home was really nice feeling the warm sun and overlooking the lake. Newer trail section which I normally ride as a little extra loop. Not super exciting but ads something new and extra to ride.

Boo!

Meanwhile down below bears doing bear things and humans doing stupid human things

This is the second grizzly they've had to relocate this summer from the grazing allotment, it's almost like the bears aren't the problem but rather the delicious cows...

Relocating a scant 12 miles seems "unwise"

Boo!

One of the trails was decent, brushy and I got totally soaked from rain overnight, but it drains decent and wasn't bad. The other trail was a shitshow.

Got back to Holimont for a day of having a lift haul my carcass to the top of the hill.

I always have lots of fun at this little hill.

Unfortunately only two pics. Somebody forgot about rapidly dying battery and forgot to turn off power hungry app. :busted: :banghead:

On the way.

where the trails are
L-R: jwb, mh and @6thElement . We're climbing up behind that prominent peak.

...which takes forever but leaves us with this view
LT3.JPG

... and dumps you into the start of a really, really fun trail
LT4.JPG

... out of order, but @6thElement having more of that climb for breakfast.
(did I mention this whole climb is between 10,800 and 12,500?)
LT6th.JPG

... 2k descent to a second awful climb to middle of nowhere, for a 1k descent in 1 mile.

... pretty nice way to spend a Saturday.
