Lots of new trails and discovery today. Kiddies out for a trail walk. Rugged trails that are sometimes borderline unrideable (what did I expect from a trail named dientes del diablo) a tunnel/drainage pipe and a cute neighbourhood at the top of the hill.

Felt alright tonight so I threw the rain jacket on and regretted that decision for 25km of my 50km ride.

Phone was wet and my volume buttons fell out so I took a crappy picture.

It would seem Saturday's night ride and shit sleep have made me slower than normal.
Battled my way through 31km today.

We had a good wet spring so trees grew like crazy but now they are dropping bark and leaves so the fuel load is high.
There's a decent number of dead Gums out in the bush too, they get some sort of fungi and die really quickly.

Took the train 20 mins over to the local zone called a bike park. Definitely the most jumpy and droppy trails I’ve ridden here so far. I should have had some indication when I was passed by an ebike with a boxxer. The ups are punishingly steep! The downs are tight, dry and plenty of smallish and somewhat sketchy drops and jumps. Like most first times at a bike park, it felt pretty disorienting bouncing around. Glad to know a new zone though. My bike is also about an inch too long to fit in the vertical holders on the train (I’m not parking like blopes).

Lovely morning today. Bright and crisp. Actually needed the jacket once up the mountain. Down the back side out of the sun it’s a completely different climate… cold and wet. Very cool.
